Local Author Happy Hour

Meet local authors, Kendra Merritt, John Wilker, and R.M. Williams, and get signed copies of books. ½ off any drink on our menu for attendees.

Books have been Kendra Merritt's escape for as long as she can remember. She used to hide fantasy novels behind her government textbook in high school, and she wrote most of her first novel during a semester of college algebra. Older and wiser now (but just as nerdy) she writes retellings of fairytales with main characters who have disabilities. If she's not writing, she's reading, and if she's not reading, she's playing video games. She lives in Denver with her very tall husband, their book loving progeny, and a lazy black monster masquerading as a service dog.

John Wilker has been telling stories since he won the Puget Sound Young Authors competition in third grade. Fast forward an embarrassing number of years and he released his debut Novel Space Rogues in late 2018. Since then he’s been busily telling the story of Wil and the crew of the Ghost. He’s also begun working on a new series that should debut earlier in 2020.

Rae Williams is a local science-fiction author with a love of pop-culture.  Born and raised in Colorado, she currently lives in Denver with her mutt, Nyssa.  She identifies as bi-/pan-romantic and sexual and is “functionally” disabled due to a central nervous system disorder.  Nowadays, Williams tries to balance full-time work and graduate school with writing, reading, and cosplay.
