Robert William Case once lived the life of an introverted lawyer in Littleton, Colorado, one with a habit of journaling each day before heading off to work. Both kids were in high school,
about to graduate. Then, the Columbine massacre happened. Robert’s days of practicing law were numbered. So much more than just an isolated mass casualty event, Columbine was for some of us a demonstration of the outside-world’s willingness to impose dramatic and unexpected change. Afterwards, the old habits and routines were no longer enough. Robert sold the house in suburbia. He moved to central Denver and devoted his time and talents to creative writing classes, community theater, and improv shows. His first book, Daedalus Rising, was published in 2008. His latest book, Icarus and the Wing Builder, is a soaring tale of rites of passage, love, and betrayal, set upon the mystical islands and sailing ships of an advanced maritime civilization. In 2019, Robert became one of eight contributing authors to the highly acclaimed new release: 1969: Are You Still Listening? Stories and Essays. Robert writes and advocates for aging well, bicycle adventure, and reading often. For more, visit: www.bicyclepoet.com
