This month we welcome Don Bogen and Vicki Mandell-King for our First Saturday Poetry Series!
Happy Hour mingling starts at 4:30, reading starts at 5:30.

Don Bogen is the author of five books of poetry, most recently Immediate Song (Milkweed Editions, 2019). His other two books are a critical study of Theodore Roethke and a translation of selected poems by the contemporary Spanish poet Julio Martínez Mesanza. He has collaborated with composers from the U.S. and abroad. Prizes for his work include The Writer / Emily Dickinson Award of the Poetry Society of America and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Camargo Foundation. He has held Fulbright positions in Spain and at the Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry in Belfast. Vicki Mandell-King says, “I write poetry simply because I can’t not.” Her poems have been individually published in a variety of literary journals. She has three published collections, titled: TENACITY OF LACE, SHRINKING INTO INFINITE SKY, and HURRY, OPEN THE GATES. She is in the process of putting together a fourth collection. She and her husband have long lived in an old remodeled and repaired Victorian in Old Town Louisville. Their son, whom both say is the greatest gift in their lives, and his family, including three grandies, live nearby.
