Cancelled: An Evening with Mario Acevedo, John Cotter & Andrea Rexilius

Join us in welcoming local authors Mario Acevedo, John Cotter, and Andrea Rexilius for Midcourse Correction: Selected Readings and Poetry about Things Gone Wrong, on Saturday, March 28th at 7pm.

Mario Acevedo is the author of the national bestselling Felix Gomez detective-vampire series, most recentlySteampunk Banditos: Sex Slaves of Shark Island, and the YA humor thriller, University of Doom. His short fiction has appeared in numerous anthologies to include A Fistful of Dinosaurs, Straight Outta Deadwood, and Blood Business.For 2020, he has short fiction in the forthcoming anthologies, Psi-Warsand It Came From The Multiplex, and a Western novel, Luther, Wyoming. His work has won an International Latino Book Award and a Colorado Book Award. Mario serves on the writing faculty of the Regis University Mile-High MFA program and Lighthouse Writers Workshops. He is the editor of the anthology Blood and Gasoline, from Hex Publishers. Mario lives and writes in Denver, Colorado.

John Cotter’s first book, Under the Small Lights, was selected by Miami University Press as winner of their Novella Prize in 2010. Recent work has appeared in Guernica, Catapult, Electric Literature, Washington Square, Commonweal, Indiana Review, The Literary Review, the Georgia Review; and will appear soon in Raritan andTypo. In the past John's worked as a theater director, ghostwriter, trash collector, copy editor, and publisher, as well as a teacher of environmental ethics, English literature, and history. His next book, a memoir about losing his hearing, is making the rounds to publishers now. He currently teaches fiction writing at Lighthouse Writers Workshop.

Andrea Rexilius is the author of four full-length poetry collections: Sister Urn (Sidebrow, Spring 2019),  New Organism: Essais (Letter Machine, 2014), Half of What They Carried Flew Away (Letter Machine, 2012), and To Be Human Is To Be A Conversation (Rescue Press, 2011),  as well as the chapbooks,  Séance (Coconut Books, 2014), and To Be Human (Horseless Press, 2010). She earned an M.F.A. in Poetry from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2005), and a Ph.D. in Literature & Creative Writing from the University of Denver (2010). Andrea is Core Faculty in Poetry, and Program Coordinator, for the Mile-High MFA in Creative Writing at Regis University. She also teaches in the Poetry Collective at the Lighthouse Writers Workshop in Denver, Colorado.
