Bryan Hall Author Event

Author Bryan Hall will be here on Saturday, January 18th at 7pm for his new book An Ethical Guidebook to the Zombie Apocalypse: How to Keep Your Brain Without Losing Your Heart. We know Chidi from The Good Place is ALL about this book!

About the Book: When your base camp is overrun by zombies, whom do you save if you cannot save everyone? Is it permissible to sacrifice one survivor to an undead horde in order to save a greater number of the living? Do you have obligations to loved ones who have turned? Can destroying zombies harm you as a moral agent? These are only some of the troubling ethical questions you might face in a zombie apocalypse. Thankfully, Bryan Hall provides answers using the foundational theories of moral philosophy. By examining and evaluating these theories within the context of a zombie pandemic, he reveals not only how you can survive but also flourish in an undead world. Written entirely from the perspective of someone struggling to stay alive in a world overrun by zombies, each chapter uses graphic art and stories from this world to illustrate different ethical problems. Covering major thinkers such as Aristotle, Immanuel Kant, and John Stuart Mill, this is an Introduction to Ethics like no other. Here is a practical guidebook for surviving the zombie apocalypse with your humanity intact. From it you will find out why moral reasoning matters as long as you still walk among the living.

About the Author: Bryan Hall is Professor of Liberal Arts and Dean of the College of Contemporary Liberal Studies at Regis University. He is a two-time Fulbright Scholar who has published three books and over a dozen academic articles. Most of his work is in 17th-18th Century European Philosophy, but his most recent book bites into the rich intersection between Ethics and Zombie Studies.
