Author Event with Poets Rebecca Morgan Frank, Wayne Miller and Nicky Beer

On Saturday, February 20th, BookBar will be hosting three poets for an amazing night of readings and signings.  Rebecca Morgan Frank, Wayne Miller and Nicky Beer will read from their latest collections from 7pm - 9pm.

Rebecca Morgan Frank


Rebecca Morgan Frank is the author of two collections of poems, The Spokes of Venus (Carnegie Mellon University Press (2016), and Little Murders Everywhere (Salmon 2012), a finalist for the 2013 Kate Tufts Discovery Award. Her poems have appeared such places as Ploughshares, Harvard Review, New England Review, and Guernica, and she is the recipient of the Poetry Society of America’s Alice Fay di Castagnola Award for a manuscript-in-progress. Frank is co-founder and editor of the online literary magazine Memorious and an assistant professor at the University of Southern Mississippi’s Center for Writers.
 

Wayne Miller

Wayne Miller is the author of four poetry collections, most recently Post- (Milkweed, 2016) and The City, Our City (2011), which was a finalist for the William Carlos Williams Award and the Rilke Prize. He has cotranslated two books by Moikom Zeqo—most recently Zodiac (Zephyr, 2015)—and coedited three books, including Literary Publishing in the 21st Century (Milkweed, 2016) and New European Poets (Graywolf, 2008). The recipient of six awards from the Poetry Society of America, a Ruth Lilly Fellowship, the Bess Hokin Prize, and a Fulbright to Queen's University Belfast, Miller lives in Denver, co-curates the Unsung Masters Series, and teaches at the University of Colorado Denver, where he serves as editor/managing editor of Copper Nickel.

Nicky Beer

Nicky Beer is the author of The Octopus Game (Carnegie Mellon UP, 2015) and The Diminishing House (Carnegie Mellon UP, 2010), winner of the 2010 Colorado Book Award for Poetry. Her awards include a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, a Ruth Lilly Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation, a fellowship and a scholarship from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, a Mary Wood Fellowship from Washington College, a Discovery/The Nation Award, and a Campbell Corner Prize. Her poems have been published in Best American Poetry, Poetry, The Nation, The Southern Review, Kenyon Review, and elsewhere. She is an assistant professor at the University of Colorado Denver, where she co-edits the journal Copper Nickel.
