Author Event with Kathy Fish & Wendy Fox

Don't miss Kathy Fish and Wendy Fox reading from their newest titles

Wild Life: In these collected fifty stories, Fish shows herself as a tireless flash fiction maven and master. In work that spans a decade and a half, this collection presents some of the best work from the woman who has come to be synonymous with the flash fiction genre.

Kathy Fish is a faculty mentor in Fiction at the Mile-High MFA at Regis University in Denver. Additionally, she taught two-week intensive Fast Fash Workshops. Her fifth collection of flash fiction, Wild Life: Collected Works from 2003-2018, has just been released by Matter Press. Recognized Smokelong Quarterly with a fellowship in her name, and the author of "Collective Nouns for Humans in the Wild" selected for Best American Nonrequired Reading 2018, Fish is a leading voice in contemporary flash. If the Ice Had Held: Melanie Henderson's life is a lie. The scandal of her birth and the identity of her parents is kept from her family's small, conservative town. Not even she knows the truth: that her birth mother was just 14 and unmarried to her father, a boy who drowned when he tried to take a shortcut across an icy river.  Years later, in Denver, Melanie dabbles in affairs with married men while clinging to a corporate job. Will her family secret be kept, or will it tear them apart? Selected for the Santa Fe Writers Project Grand Prize.

Wendy Fox: is the author of The Seven Stages of Anger and Other Stories (winner, Press 53 short fiction contest & finalist for the Colorado Book Award), The Pull of It (named a top 2016 book by Displaced Nation)  and the forthcoming novel If the Ice Had Held, selected as the Santa Fe Writers-Project grand prize winner by Benjamin Percy.
