About The Bookshop of Yesterdays:

Blending literary allusions and mystery with a poignant family drama, this arresting debut draws much of its singular power from the author’s obvious love of books. This wholly contemporary story nonetheless is rooted in the great literature of the pat—from its character and place names drawn from Shakespeare’s The Tempest to great works such as Jane Eyre that hold the clues to solving a family’s long-suppressed riddle. “A wistful story of how the world of books can weave itself into the tapestry of our lives, Meyerson's beautiful debut is about love, family, and secrets, and a reminder that the one thing we can never escape is the past,” says Charlie Lovett, New York Times bestselling author of The Bookman's Tale. “Her affection for all things literary pours forth on every page and through a cast of characters every book lover will embrace.”

“Meyerson writes beautifully, with lush descriptions of LA and believable interactions between characters. Prospero Books is warm, inviting, and populated with lovably quirky employees readers will want to get to know. A lovely look at loss, family, and the comfort found in a good bookstore.” Kirkus Reviews

“Terrifically fun… Part riddle, part mystery, part family drama, part a bookstore lover's dream, and then more." —Aimee Bender, New York Times bestselling author of The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake
